HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR PRINCESS!!!

..... 3 years ago Christmas night....

Yes--while most everyone else was sleeping after a long day of celebrating, we were at the hospital waiting for our first precious child to be born.

Then at 6:50 a.m. December 26th God blessed us with our precious baby girl!!!

Proud Daddy!!!!

And here she is today---a big 3 year old!!!

There are so many things I could say about our "baby"--this post would be way TOO long. But I am sure that speak for RDC and myself when I say we love being the parents to this little girl. She makes us laugh (sometimes cry out of frustration--can I say potty training time!?!?!? :), makes us so very proud, and makes us smile each and everyday. We love to hear her laugh, love when she snuggles and love to hear her ask her daddy, "you not go talk to people-you stay home with me today?" I can't believe it has already been 3 years-I am afraid to see how fast the next years will go. But I know we will cherish and enjoy every minute of her. We love you, MWC and can't wait to see what this year brings!!!!!!

Trees and Tradition

Last weekend we were able to go pick out our tree and decorate it. I love this time because like most people, the ornaments on our tree mean something or have been given to us by friends and family. MWC loved hanging ornaments and of course there is a "corner" where most of them ended up. And several of the same colored balls ending up right next to each other. :) But we enjoyed slowing down for a bit and spending that time together.

MWC and I were also able to attend a church Christmas program that my family has gone to for YEARS!!! EJW, CVW and I all took our turns in performing in this program when we were growing up and attended the church. So it was special to take MWC and watch it with EJW, Bebe, and my grandmother.

Christmas season has begun!!

I know for most retailers, Christmas began back in October!! But for us we did our first "Christmas" activity. Saturday we took MWC to the local parade. We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade a couple of weeks ago, but this was her first "big" parade. When we told her we were going her eyes lit up and she said, "I see Scooby-Doo, Hello Kitty".... and started naming all the floats she saw on TV. I was afraid she was going to be disappointed, but she was not. The animals and the candy were the biggest hit!!! The most excited she would get would be seeing horses or dogs walking along the parade. And of course she loved seeing Santa riding on the firetruck!! Overall she did enjoy the parade--and we enjoyed taking her to the first of MANY Christmas activites that are coming up!!!

The motorcycles and sirens were "LOUD"!!

Everything is better when eating a sucker!!!

So this morning....

...when MWC woke up, I brought her to my bed because I was just not quite ready to get up!! :) So she is there next to me and pulls her shirt up and says, "Look at Baby M move!! Wanna feel it??" I loved it!! Of course I obliged, giggling the whole time!!! --feeling and watching her breathe!!

As you can probably guess I am feeling the baby move a lot now!! The other night, it was strong enough for RDC to feel. He is quite excited!!! (He has been trying since I first felt him/her several weeks ago.) Anyway, since it is stronger and you can sometimes see my tummy move, we have been trying to get MWC to feel too. But since you can't predict when it happens it is hard to do. But we will keep trying--and maybe she will feel her baby brother/sister move just as she has felt her "baby" move. :)

Pink toenails.....

A few weeks ago, I had my toenails painted for a party RDC and I went to. Once MWC saw them she told me she wanted her "toenails pink like Mommy." She said it a couple of times that week. Then one night when RDC was getting her down from supper, she said, "Daddy, I want pink toenails like Mommy." He looked at me with this 'I am not sure my little baby is old enough for this' look. But he was fine with it, so we proceeded to paint her toenails pink!! And boy was she PROUD of those toes!!!!! She will show anyone who will take a minute to look!!! That night while she was in bed, we thought she asleep until about 9:45 we heard, "Daddy........". When he went in there she said, "I need to look at my toenails!" I think she is headed to be a very girly-girl!!! (Her daddy is in BIG trouble!!!!! :)

Baby "M" meets Baby Elmo

Since we are able to record our sonograms and watch them later, MWC loves to watch baby "M" after we watch Baby Elmo. She does not seem to understand that she IS Baby "M". Now she has her Baby "M" talk to Baby Elmo in my tummy. It is too cute to hear what she has to say to him/her. She will ask, "How are you? Fine?" And then sometimes proceed to tell him/her what she has been doing.

We think she will be a great big sister!! She loves to rock her babies and sing to them. It just makes us smile every time we hear her. We ask her if she would rather have a brother or a sister, and she responds brother sometimes and then sister at other times. I just know that we can't wait until the time comes!!!

Deep in the heart of Texas....

Last weekend RDC and Pop were able to go to the Nascar race in Fort Worth. We love to go because it gives us a chance to visit Grandaddy, Aunt EJW, and Aunt JAC. We were able to go to the zoo, a fair, and ride the train. MWC had a great time and was pretty tired when we got home. As usual, it was too short of a trip, but we can't wait for the holidays to spend more time with everyone and then plan another trip out there.

RA RA REE!!!!!

We had a great Halloween taking our little Bronco cheerleader to the fall festival at church. RDC's sweet cousin and her family live in Colorado and gave this outfit to her a while back. THANKS RICHARDS FAMILY!! She loved jumping up and down everywhere she went!! :) --since I was not a cheerleader, I could not remember a whole lot to teach her to say, so we stuck with RA RA REE!!!! Her favorite thing to do was the space jumps so we spent most of our time there. She did not really care much about playing the games and getting candy. (Much to mama and daddy's disappointment since now we don't have much candy in the house :( ) But she had fun and was quite tired from her jumping!!!!
We also had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and everything still looks great!! It was time for another sonogram--and no we stuck it out and still don't know if we are having a girl or a boy. I have to admit it was a little harder not finding out, but I like the surprise at the end. I am measuring more like 19 weeks instead of 18 and since 2 sonograms have shown a due date around March 26, my doctor moved the due date up a week. The heartbeat was 140 and the baby weighed 9 oz. MWC stared and grinned the whole time so I had a hard time deciding which to watch....her or the screen. Of course luckily we were able to get a video so RDC watched the sonogram later that day. (Looking more closely to see if we could tell!!) Anyway things are good, I am attaching some "belly shots taken a couple of weeks ago. Again, thanks for your thoughts and prayers as we continue on!!

Pumpkin' Pickin'

Saturday we were able to go to a local pumpkin patch for the morning. MWC loved it!! We got to go on a hayride, watch them feed the donkeys, cows, catfish and a zeedonk. --Yes you read that right---a cross between a zebra and a donkey. Then we got to each pick a pumpkin to bring home. And of course there were some other animals we could go and visit. The weather was perfect. ( A little hot for a October fall day, but not a cloud in the sky!!) But it was something different and fun to do on a Saturday morning!!!!

After a fun morning of pumpkin picking!!!!

Guess Who's the BIG 30 !!!!!

... and no it is not MWC. AWC turned the BIG 30 today and RDC and MWC, with the help of BeBe, fixed up AWC a birthday cake. MWC had a blast with the confetie sprinkles.

We Thank God every day for Mommy/AWC !!!!!!
I hope everyone gets a chance to call AWC and wish her a Happy Birthday on her BIG 3 0 !!!
WE LOVE YOU MOMMY/AWC !!!!!!!

THE FAIR!!!!

We were able to take MWC to the fair this last weekend and of course she LOVED it!! She was not scared to ride anything and wanted to ride things she was too little to ride. Most of the stuff she was too little, but luckily RDC rode a lot with her. I think she would have ridden all night if we had the time and money to do so!!! :) Next year we plan to go on family night and get the armbands so she can ride to her hearts content!!!

BeBe was able to go too!!

I think it might be time.....

....to move my make-up a little higher and out of reach!! :) I was in the shower the other day, and when I got out, her daddy showed me what she had done. I am just glad he began to miss her quickly and some old lipstick is all she found!!! :)
Also now if I don't get the phone first and you call, you may get someone new answering the phone! She likes to answer and say, "Hey!" So be warned!!! **She is growing up WAY faster than we want her too!!!! :(
And update on Baby Elmo (as he/she is called by big sister!!) --I went to the doctor today and everything looks good. We heard the heartbeat again--which is always a nice sound!!! In four weeks (on Halloween) we will go for another sonogram. And we have offically decided that we are NOT going to find out what we are having. Sorry for those who are disappointed. We want to be surprised at the end!!! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers during this time.

The beach.....

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to blog about our vacation, I just did not realize how tired I would be taking care of a two year old and being pregnant. :) But we did have a wonderful time and she loved everything about the trip. She loved the ocean, the sand, and playing in the pool. When we would have her in the ocean on a raft riding the waves, she would look at us and say, "I go barefoot in the water and go up-n-down." Which meant, I wanna get off this raft and you hold me in the waves. And if water would get in her mouth she would just spit it out and keep smiling!! When she was not in the water she was playing football, building sand castles or fishing with her daddy. She never stopped!! It was so much fun to watch her and play with her, RDC and I both loved EVERY minute of it. She laughed and giggled the whole time. Of course looking back at the pictures makes me want to take her back and spend another week with them at the beach!!! I wish I could post all the pictures we took, but I will post some of our favorites.

"Look at the sand castles we built!!"
