A whole hand old!!!!

JDC is THRILLED to be a "whole hand old" today!! And he would tell anyone who was willing to listen. :) Actually he has been looking forward to turning 5 since about November. :) And as for me----it makes me happy to see him so happy and excited. (however, the first day of kindergarten may be a different story.)

But we did celebrate him ALL day long today. We love our little boy who always keeps us laughing and guessing what he will do next. It is never a dull moment with him around.

JDC,
I love you more than I can put into words.  You are a very sweet and compassionate little boy who thinks of others.  Yet you do have the "pesky little brother" thing down pat.  But if someone messes with your sister, you are the first one to take up for her. You are a wonderful big brother to AWC and you LOVE to play with him.  You are very loving and always want to check to make sure others are ok if they get hurt. We have a feeling you might be a class clown because you LOVE to make other people laugh. :) And your smile and laugh are contagious. You love to help me cook in the kitchen and I LOVE having you there.  Daddy and I love watching you grow and wanting to learn.  You have become very curious how things work, or how to spell word or what things say.  Even though you are extremely busy~I love having you around and can't imagine what my day will be like when you are in kindergarten.  You sure do keep things interesting. :)

I love you, JDC and I look forward to continuing to watch you grow.

What JDC decided he was ready to do...

**This picture was taken at Pop and Granny's because I was busy using the video camera to get any still pictures. :-)

He decided he was ready to ride his bike with out training wheels!! He is doing GREAT!! RDC kept saying ok, one Saturday we will take them off and learn.  However, one Monday, when he got home from work, JDC mentioned it again, so they took them off.  RDC helped him one time in the cul-de-sac and on the way back, he was riding alone!!!! He picked up on it FAST!!!!

Pop decided that he needed "JDC to teach him to ride." ;-) So he went looking around and found him a bike so the next time JDC was over there, he taught his Pop how to ride. :) But he told him, "Pop, you have to have a helmet first." :) He wanted to make sure his Pop was safe.  Now when he is over there, they take a ride around the neighborhood together. (And I am not sure who enjoys it more!! :-) )
