Celebrating with friends!!

A couple of weeks ago, RDC and I had planned a birthday party so MWC could celebrate with her friends! (When you have a birthday so close to a holiday, you can pick to celebrate any time you want!!) Anyway, we had reservations at a local place that will hosts a parties for Saturday. But on Friday night before, MWC came down with a stomach bug!!! So we had to cancel the party. :( Fortunately though, our church has a great fellowship hall (which is just enough room for kids to run) and WONDERFUL friends who are very flexible and we had the party Sunday night after church. MWC and all her friends had a great time--and I don't think they even missed not having any "entertainment". They are a great group of kids who play very well together. God has really blessed RDC, MWC and I with good family and friends!! THANK YOU!!!!!

Clean Sweep...

The other day I was about to sweep the kitchen floor when the phone rang. I was in the kitchen talking on the phone when MWC came into the kitchen and started to help. I had already swept a small pile, which is where she wanted to start sweeping. But it was fun to watch her attempt to sweep with the adult size broom!! (I may have a chore helper sooner than I thought!!)

We love when Daddy is home!!!

I am not sure who is more excited when RDC gets home in the afternoons~~ me or MWC!! But we are both pretty excited when he walks in the door. She usually becomes a pretty big "Daddy's girl" for a little while. But tonight I caught them snuggling up together on her Elmo couch reading a book. And he is such a good Daddy because the "book" they are reading is a Bob and Larry dictionary. :) I can't brag on him enough!!!! God has definitely blessed us with a wonderful husband and an incredible Daddy!!

PAULA!!!

....Deen that is!! Mom, CVW, her friend, and I all had the chance to go see Paula in person in Vicksburg on Saturday. We do not get the food network cable, so I am not quite as familiar with Paula as mom and CVW, but I had seen her on Martha Stewart and CVW always raves about her. So I was excited about the opportunity to get to see her in person. And she was a blast!!! She talked more than cooked, but it was fun. It was neat because she would walk into the audience to see and hug fans. She ended up at one point only about 3 seats away from my mom. (So mom got an up close and personal look!!) I got fairly close trying to get a good picture for the blog--at one point CVW called me obsessed at trying to get a close enough shot!! :) But like I said, it was fun and a good girls day out!!

Waiting on Paula!!

The tradition continues...

Every Saturday night growing up, my sisters and I ALWAYS rolled our hair on pink sponge rollers. Yes--every!! Then Sunday morning for church we had some curls!!!! (My mom told me that is how CVW learned to count to 30.) Anyway we would sit there and watch T.V. while mom brushed, sorted, and rolled each of our heads. I remember it like it was yesterday. Well it was about time for MWC. So for Christmas she got some pink sponge rollers in her stocking. She did GREAT while I rolled her hair. They did not last all night because I did not put them in tight enough so they fell out. There was one that stayed in all night, so she did have one curl to show. But of course we will try again!! :)

Table for one, please...

We have noticed lately that MWC loves to climb in the chairs at the kitchen table and put her arms up and say, "Eat." But last night we had the booster chair from Granny and Bop's house and she climbed right in and put her hands on the table like she had been sitting there all along. So we asked her if she wanted to sit at the table or in her highchair. And what other answer would you expect from a independent 2 year old? You got it!! Sitting at the table with mama and daddy. Looks like we will be going to Wal-mart to buy a booster seat this weekend. I am just not exactly sure how I am about all this growing up -not being a baby anymore stuff. But it looks like I don't have a choice so I better get used to it and hang on!!!
