We wanna know what you think?!?!?!

Ok--someone at church got me thinking. She told me Baby Elmo was a boy and she has NEVER been wrong when guessing. I told her "thanks, I love ya, but I am not going out and buying anything blue just on her hunch!!" :) Then someone else walked up and she asked them and they said girl. So RDC and I wanna know what the consensus is!!! Again if one wins out, I am not going out and buying a wardrobe just yet!! Just some "stats" for those of you who go off of those things:
  • RDC says it looks like I am carrying this one lower than MWC.
  • The heart rate at our sonogram was 140. (However, MWC's was 150 so I personally don't go on that!!)
  • This pregnancy has been a little different in the fact that I was sicker in the first 12 weeks.
  • Several people who see me on a regular basis have been saying boy.

If you want to know any other things I have not listed just email me and ask. You can vote on the poll to the side and if you want, leave a comment and tell us why you voted the way you did!!!---or just telling us what you voted for (just for the record!! :)) Or just feel free to leave a comment telling us your opinion.

Only 63 days left to go and then we will ALL know what our sweet second blessing is!!!

Let's see....7 things about me...

I have been tagged to list 7 things about me....so here goes----hopefully you will learn something new about me!! :)

1. I did not think RDC and I would make it after our first date!! He was 15 minutes late and we just did not talk much while at lunch. **However, I found out later that he was late due to the fact that he was looking at a house which he later bought--which is now our home!! I am so glad that God knew better than me and did not give up!!! I would not trade my husband for the world!! (Even on the bad days!!! :))

2. I was not very fond of my middle name growing up--until I realized how special it was to my daddy that I was named after his grandfather. And since then, have no problem sharing what it is and why I was named that.

3. I am not a big fan of sweet tea from McAlister's. I know call me unAmerican or unSouthern. Just not a fan.

4. I could however drink NOTHING but Coke all day long!! (and by the way McAlisters has great coke. As do most Mexican restaurants!! My fellow coke drinkers will agree!! :)**and no Pepsi will NOT do. I would rather drink water!!

5. MWC and I both had a broken/fractured arm by the time we were 2 1/2. And we both had it for a couple of days before we went to the doctor to get a cast. I broke mine because a little girl pushed me out of a chair-and MWC fell in the yard and hit it just the right way.

6. My first major in college was banking and finance. And I did only change it once.

7. NOT a morning person!! As our preacher says, "do you say Good morning, Lord!!!!" with a smile or "Good Lord, it is morning." I definitely do NOT jump out of the bed smiling and singing. It takes me quite a while to wake up and I do hit snooze when I can. However, with children there is no snooze button. So MWC has become accustomed to after she gets up, I go get her and we come and lay in Mama and Daddy's bed for a little bit until I can wake up!!!

I hope you learned a little about me. KS already tagged HB, TP , and MAS--so I am going to double tag them and then tag Dara!!!

Daddy and his princess!

MWC has always been a pretty big daddy's girl. But lately when he gets home, she follows him around the house and ask him everyday, "you no go talk to some people, you just stay home and play with me?"--Meaning--don't go to work-stay with me. And if you ask her whose princess she is-she ALWAYS replies, "Daddy's!!" I love to watch them together. I am not sure who is more excited everyday when he gets home from work!! The other night she had on her Barbie princess dress and was twirling around the den wanting everyone to "clap for her!!" She is so much fun to just sit and watch!!! And of course she had to take a moment and go sit in her daddy's lap and get some hugs and kisses!!!

An even BIGGER big girl bed!!!!

Today was another big day in our household. MWC was moved from her "toddler" bed to a big-girl day bed!! This bed has been in the computer room and needed to be moved out so we can reassemble the crib and put it in there. SHE LOVES IT!!! She was of course bouncing all over it this morning after we put it in there, while trying to re-arrange the furniture to make it all fit. *And doesn't it seem while you are just going to do one task, something else starts and then you have had a morning of "tasks"!! That was us this morning. After the bed was put together, we were surveying her room and noticed, "you know, she doesn't really play with that doll furniture. Take it apart and box it up!!!" OK so maybe it is me noticing things and poor RDC having to carry out the physical labor part of the task!! :) Such a good husband!!!! But she does love her "new" bed. It took her a little longer than usual to go to sleep at nap time --so hopefully the "newness" has worn off and bedtime will be quicker.

76 days can seem so long....

..but so short too!!! I can't believe we have 11 weeks until our next child arrives. At times, I feel like it will NEVER get here and then I think by Easter we could be parents to 2 children. Everything is still going well. I still feel good-though sometimes a little tired if we have a busy day. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but went to the doctor yesterday and it seems that changing my diet has controlled my blood sugar so no need for insulin. So from here on out, I just need to watch my diet. Not that big of a deal, but it is way more fun to eat "fun" stuff especially while pregnant, but that time will come again!! :) The baby is very active and moves a lot!!! We have tried to get MWC to feel it, but she doesn't sit still long enough with her hand on my belly to do so. She will now talk to "baby Elmo" and tell him/her good night and "I love you!!" We love to hear her say that unprovoked. The computer room is slowly but surely turning into a nursery. But when it has been a computer room for almost 10 years since RDC moved in here, it has been quite a task!! So we are getting there. Thank you again for all your prayers and support as we get ready!!!

This was taken a couple of weeks ago when I was 27 weeks pregnant.

Here I Come!!

MWC got a tricycle for her birthday last week and has been riding it around in the kitchen since it has been too cold to go outside. Everyday when RDC would get home from work, she would ask him, "Daddy, help me pedal." So that has been the routine in the kitchen for a few days!! Well this morning, she and her Daddy went to Chik-Fil-A for breakfast and then to Wal-mart for her helmet. She was so excited. (And of course she had to get a horn too!!) When they got home she got suited up to go ride in the garage. She is getting pretty good at pedaling--steering took a few minutes since she has not had much room to turn in the kitchen. But after just a few minutes we were ready to venture down the street. We have some good friends that live at the end of our street and she wanted to go and show them. So off we went. She did really good. Daddy had to push a little going up the hill, but for the most part she was on her own!!! When we got home, I think she was little worn out. She asked for a glass a water and wanted to sit on the couch and watch a movie!! But I can see many-a mile being put on this little bike!!!

Ready to ride!!!!!

2008--New Year and changes....

I have spent several days thinking about the new year and all the things that come with "newness." Sometimes new things and changes are good and sometimes they are not what we always want. But something God has been showing me and telling me these last few days are to be thankful AT ALL TIMES. That He is control and He knows exactly what is going on. Our family already knows of several things that will change for us this year. Our most special of course being the birth of our 2nd child!!! It seems to me that it is still SO far away, but I know it will be here before we know it. And of course those of you who have 2 children, know how many changes RDC, MWC, and I are in for!!!! I keep thinking we are some what prepared, but then I get a little panicky!! :) And of course being a mama, I worry about MWC and how she is going to handle not having our undivided attention all the time. But I know that God blessed us with this baby at His perfect time and He already knows how we are all going to do with this big "newness" in our lives.
And we already know that some of our good friends will be moving to another part of the state later this month. And those are the type changes that I am not very fond of. But I know that they are following God's will for their lives and when people do that, how can you not be excited for them!!! But I know they know that we will miss them dearly, but are so excited about what God has in store for them-and for that I am thankful!!!

So as the new year gets started, I want to start it out by being thankful in all things and at all times. And then as the year progresses and other "new" things come our way, I pray that I will continue to have that attitude.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FROM OURS!!!!
