RUNNING A MARATHON....

No--not me --are you kidding me!! :) But some friends of KayKay's are--Lindsey Tew and Steve Simmons. Some of you may know Lindsey's father, Randy Tew. The are running as members of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Team in Training" program. They have two websites that give more information about what they are doing. You can start here to learn about their training and the cause they are running for: www.steveandlindz.blogspot.com. Please add them to your prayer list as the work for such a great and worthy cause.

Our Little Picaso

MWC has a new favorite thing to do.....she loves to paint!! She sat today and painted for almost 45 minutes. And as soon as RDC called around lunch that is the first thing she told him, "Daddy, I paint!!" She also loves to show off her art work. :) Today we painted with Q-Tips and she thought that was pretty neat!! For those who are interested, we will be happy to sell her artwork for a small price!! :)

I tried to get her to look at me and smile, but she was too focused on her painting to smile for very long. This look says to me that she is thinking, "hurry up, Mama, I don't have time to smile for another picture!" :)

On another note about happenings in our family, RDC's company has moved locations. He is no longer 9 minutes from the house. **More like 20-30 minutes. This means no more lunches at home and he has to leave closer to 7:15 instead of 7:45. We realize how fortunate we have been that for the past 2 1/2 years he has come home most days and we have been able to enjoy lunch together. We do miss him, but they are in a better locations for their customers.

Playn', Puddles, and the park..

WHEW!!! Well it has been a crazy couple of weeks around our house. After MWC got better, we had VBS at our church. She had a great time!! She was quite worn out with being so busy after doing nothing while sick. But Thursday night, we had family night and she got to play with her friends and try hola hooping. She never quite got the hang of it, but it was fun watching her try!! :)

So after Bible School, Grandaddy and Aunt EJW came for Father's Day weekend. And it is a good thing they did. Saturday morning Grandaddy was in the backyard with his dog and noticed our grass was very wet and soggy. Apparently, we had a leak in our pipes. Who knew since we had not been in the backyard for two weeks because of her being sick and then VBS. However, our grass was NICE and green in that area. So RDC got to digging to figure out where and what the problem was. But as we have always said we are VERY fortunate to have family living near by, and we have just added one more reason. :) Pop and Granny are on a cruise so we took over their house!!! :) (We knew they would not mind, but we did call and check!! :) Anyway, so we turned off our water and packed up and headed over there. Let's see.....that was Saturday. Luckily the plumbers did come by and give an overview and said they would be back Monday morning to fix it. So---we packed more clothes!!!! RDC and I did talk about how we felt like we were on vacation because they had good, expensive cable!! :) Anyway, the plumbing was fixed Monday night about 8:00. Since it was fixed by Tuesday, I brought MWC home to take a good nap in her bed. But when we got home the water is fixed, but ~~~~~NO ELECTRICITY!!!! AT this point, I looked at Aunt EJW and laughed. (I guess to keep from crying.) Anyway, luckily, it came on about 20 minutes later. (I think it was out due to the rain and storms.) So now we are back at home with water and power!!! Praise the Lord!!!!! :)

Some of the highlights of the weekend were, we did have a great time with Grandaddy and Aunt EJW, and a good Father's Day. We went to the park and had dinner with KaKa and Will. Having them all here was a great way to keep our minds off of our plumbing problems. We can't wait until they come back when it can be a little more uneventful.

WE ARE STILL HERE!!

Sorry it has been so long since we have posted but we have had a very sick little girl. MWC started running a low grade fever Saturday afternoon, but by early Sunday morning, it was up to around 103. :( So we started giving her Motrin and Tylenol every 3 hours to keep her fever down~~and sometimes it did not help. But we are happy to say that she has not had fever higher than 100.6 since the middle of the night Wednesday. The only thing we have to remind us of the virus, is a nasty cough that is getting better. RDC said he could tell she was better when he got home from work on Thursday and she ran to the door and yelled, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy." And she had not done that since last Friday. So it definitely made his day!!
