The genuine kindness of a child...

So the other morning, MWC woke up earlier than usual. ~~and I was not quite ready to get up. :) So RDC went and got her and put her in the bed with me. She has her lovee that she has slept with since she was an infant, and since she was coming to get in our bed, she brought it with her. So I am laying there with my eyes closed and I hear her say, "here, Mommy," as she hands me lovee to cuddle with. I was just overwhelmed with love and thankfulness because more than any other quality, I want her to be a genuinely kind person who thinks of others. And as she gets older I pray that it will become just as important to her.

A great Monday!!

We had a great Memorial Day with RDC being off. We have passes to a local water park and could take someone free on Monday, so we packed up and went. We have some really good family friends who also have passes and met us there and since KayKay was off, she got to go too!! It was such a great time!!! The day was beautiful with a few clouds every now and then. After lunch, the adults wanted to slide on the BIG slides. As soon as MWC saw the big slides, she wanted to ride!! I could not believe it. So the sweet Daddies started walking up the stairs to the slides with the two girls. They both loved it!!! MWC got off and said, "it's fun, one more time!!" Well it ended up being more than one more time. But we all had fun and were quite worn out by the end of the day. The daddies can go again free on July 4th, so I think we will have to put it on our calendars!! We hope you and your family had a wonderful day together as well!!

BIG GIRL BED!!!

Last night MWC spent the first night in her big girl bed!! (I figured we better do it now before I decided to keep her my "baby" until she was about 10!! :) ) She did great---she loves to play in it and get in and out!! We set it up well before bed time so she had time to get used to and play before it was actually bedtime. But when it was time for bed, she was quite excited and giddy!!! It took her a while to go to sleep, but she never got up. She did call for us to rock her, but we just rubbed her back and told her good night and that we loved her. And she finally went to sleep without getting up!! And this morning, she did her usual and called us when she woke up. So we are quite proud of our big girl!!!

Tickle Time!!!!

MWC loves her some Tickle Time with Mommy!!! It brought joy to my heart to hear my two girls giggling.

Back into slidn' again....

It was such a good day at our house yesterday......MWC played on the slide unprovoked and on her own. Ever since she fell off the day after we got it for her, she has not been excited about sliding. She would if we suggested it and wanted us to hold her hand as she slid. However, if we were places with slides like the park, church playground or friend's houses she never missed a beat and loved to slide. But there was just something about the slide in her back yard. But luckily she is over that and loves her slide again. In fact today when we were outside, she ran over there even without RDC or I standing there and started to climb.

IT'S GOOD!!!!

I wish you could hear her say, "it's good!" It is so cute the way she says it. But that is how she described the corn the other night. Normally she does not eat corn, but I gave it another shot. So I cut some off of my ear and put it on her plate. She picked it right up like she has eaten it all her life. :) Well then I sat down and she saw my ear of corn, reached right over and picked it up!! We just could not help but laugh. She just kept saying, "it's good!!"

We are so proud of KayKay!!!

Yesterday was a proud day in our family!! Our KayKay graduated from nursing school!! She is officially a nurse. In nursing school, the ceremony is called a pinning ceremony, so we all went and watched her get "pinned". I have to admit, I got a little teary eyed when I watched my baby sister "graduate" and begin a new chapter in her life. She begins her "big girl" job on Monday at a Iocal hospital, but has a few weeks of orientation before she is actually on the floor. I know I speak for our entire family when I say, "I love you, KayKay and I am VERY proud of your accomplishments!!"

And of course the day would not be complete without some pictures!!! :)

YEAH, KAYKAY!!!

A special visit

A couple of weeks ago RDC's Aunt RCB came for a visit. We all had a lot of fun visiting and eating while she was here. (I am not sure who loves catfish more~~MWC or Anut RCB!) But I think the highlight for MWC was when his aunt sat at the piano and played "Jesus Loves Me," while MWC sang!! It was very sweet to watch. She even held MWC's finger while she helped her play a song. Too bad she is not closer when it comes time for piano lessons.!! :) We all enjoyed her visit. We miss you and love you Aunt RCB--and come back soon!!!

Of course she wanted Pop to have a turn. Dancing while Pop plays!!

A sweet moment..

Most afternoons now when RDC gets home MWC has her shoes on and is ready to go outside with her Daddy. Which is good for them to have some good Daddy/daughter time and I can get supper ready. Well the other day I was looking out the kitchen window and this picture is what I saw!! It was too sweet. They were looking for birds and airplanes. I just stood there and was overwhelmed with thankfulness and appreciation of what our Heavenly Father has blessed me with. So today I have a challenge: take notice of something that God has blessed you with and express your appreciation to Him.
