I know....I know...

..it has been a while since I have blogged. :( It is not entirely my fault though!! Our Internet has been in and out the last couple of days. Some times it works--and some times it doesn't. But anyway....and my friends were right-you are MUCH busier with 2 children!! I knew we would have more to do--but not quite sure where the day goes. **And by the way with the Internet being down, I realized I don't spend quite as much time on the computer as I thought I did. And it is not the main reason housework does not get done!!! My precious children are. And I would much rather be playing or holding them then doing housework anyway!!!** But things are good. I can't believe JDC is already over a month old. It seems to be going by much quicker the 2nd time around. He is a good baby--but still fussy at times. But luckily no screaming fits!! :) He seems to love to snuggle so I am taking advantage of loving on him every minute I can. He is such the 2nd child though, already going to church, the mall, and out to eat. But it is different than having a December baby. The weather is much nicer!! He is in his bed in his room at night now. The day we moved him, RDC looked at me and said, "if you are not ready, we can wait a little longer." I said, "no, he will have to move eventually." But he is doing great sleeping at night between feedings and going back to sleep quickly after he eats.

MWC is doing great too!!! Paying more attention to him and always wanting to give him his passy. --even if he is not crying! She loves to go over and give him hugs and kisses, and will get upset if she doesn't before bedtime. We are having the typical 3 year old behavior--not wanting to listen or "explaining" why she has to do something we have told her not to do. But it is so much fun to watch her play and imagine with her babies. She still loves to perform with her guitar and microphone she got for Christmas--you never heard, "Away in a Manger" sung until it is sung to rock and roll music. : ) Her big question she ask all the time is not "why" but "what are you doing?" or "what is he/she doing?" MWC has also gotten more lovey/dovey with us--wanting to snuggle more or out of the blue we will get hugs and an "I love you, Mommy/Daddy!" There is NOTHING better than to hear that from her. *I am sure it has to do with JDC getting some attention from us--but whatever the reason, I am not complaining!!!
RDC and I are adjusting to our new lifestyle of 2 children. --Finally getting to talk when we get in bed about 10:30 or 11:00. But we would not trade it for anything. The other night JDC was up quite a bit and we were both SO tired the next day, but after I fed him that morning, he gave us the biggest grin!! And I looked at RDC and we agreed that those sweet grins make all the "hard times" worth it!!
And now for some pictures....(I am sure it is the main reason you are checking our blog!! : )

MWC loves to be outside now that the weather is getting nice and warm. (And baby has to go out too!!)--She loves to be the "mama."

So peaceful!!!

Our first "pet"

MWC helped Pop plant a garden at Pop and Granny's house one day last week. When she came home-this is what she brought with her!!!!

She and Pop named him Kermit. But it was decided that when Daddy got home, we would let him go. She was so excited to show Daddy what she and Pop had found, so they ran outside to let him go.

One thing RDC and I did not think about was the fact that 3 year olds may not understand that if you let him go--he is not going to be there the next time you go outside. So we had to do a little explaining--but she is fine now!!!

A morning baby?!?!?!

Could it be that JDC is going to be our "morning child"? This morning after I fed him, I was talking to him and singing the "good morning" song and he would get the biggest grin across his face!! It was priceless. We had more fun just sitting there while I sang and all watching him light up!!! What a way to start the day. :) MWC is like me and we are not fans of morning time. It takes us a while to get her out of the bed and moving. She likes to lay there for a little bit before "hitting the floor".-(As my daddy used to tell me when he would wake me up in the mornings!) Maybe between RDC and JDC we can have pleasant mornings around here!!!! :)
**And by the way for those of you wanting to know.....JDC has not been called Baby Elmo by his big sister!! :) Except for the first time they met, she had to make the connection from Baby Elmo to Baby JDC. But when family came in they were quickly corrected that he was not baby Elmo, but baby JDC!!

Does your computer talk back!?!?!

This afternoon, MWC was playing her Sesame Street computer game. There is a section of "People in your neighborhood" where you can click and they will sing songs about different community helpers. On the bakery section, Bob asked, "Have you been to your neighborhood bakery lately?" And without missing a bit -(as if Bob was standing in our room)-she replies, "No, not lately, Bob!"

2 week check up....

Well we are beginning to get in the groove of things. Things are still going good. We think JDC has a little problem with gas--but nothing a little Mylicon hasn't been able to fix. He is still a good baby just a little fussy if his tummy starts to hurt. MWC is paying more attention to him--wanting to talk to him while he is awake and wanting to "go check on him" when she hears him fussing. And then give him his passy. So far she has been a big help--but not too much of a big help!! :)
We went for his 2 week check up today. He now weighs 8 lbs 4 oz--up from his 7 lbs 8 oz birth weight. MWC was 8 weeks old before we hit 8 lbs!!! :) His doctor said he looks great!!!

A little "sisterly" advice!!!

The picture below is quite special to us because as long as RDC's parents can remember, we don't think there have been 3 Cox men alive at the same time. Pop's father passed away when Pop was 2-so RDC never knew him and Pop's grandfather passed away early also. So it is quite neat to see a picture with 3 generations of Cox men.

TAG--I'M IT!!!

I have been tagged to list 7 things about me that you may not know.

Here are the rules:List 7 random things people might not know about you. The rules are to link the person who sent this to you and leave a comment on their blog so their readers can visit yours. Post the rules on your blog. Share 7 facts about yourself. Tag 7 random people a the end of your post, linking their blog. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. In high school I had a paper route. Well my daddy, EJW and I all pitched in together to run it. Even though it was early, I was through "working" by 6:00 so in the summer I had the days to myself!!!

2. I always wanted to have a big brother. I ADORE my sisters but have always wondered what it would have been like to have an older brother.

3. I would do my wedding day all over again!! I loved it!! It was not too stressful and was SO MUCH FUN!!!!!

4. I graduated high school a year early. My "senior" year would have consisted of either calculus and other higher level stuff or basic introductory level courses. I did not want to spend my entire year busting my tale to do well or waste my time on easier courses. So I had enough credits to finish early and start college.

5. Sleep is one of my most favorite things to do!!!! :) I could take a nap EVERY day and still go to bed and sleep all night!!! *I think this is going to be one of the biggest adjustments to having 2 children!!! :)

6. I love living near family. *Kinda a home body I guess you would say. I have no desire to move away. I like that my children live near most of their grandparents and can see them on a regular basis. **We miss having Grandaddy here, but have great visits with him often!!! :)

7. I have never lived alone. Always with either family, roommates in college or as a wife. (Don't think I could--would get bored with no one to talk to!!!! :) )

Again, I hope you have learned something new about me today!!!!!

*Quick update on JDC--He is doing great!! We had a few more fidgety nights, but think we have worked out all the kinks. Now he eats and goes back to sleep and sleeps until he eats again. He is eating VERY well--usually about every 4 hours. Sometimes he gets hungry around 3 1/2, which is still not too bad. MWC is still doing good with him. We have had only a few behavioral situations, but nothing too bad. But we still have our "normal" 3 year old challenges, but nothing we can't handle. Overall, we are very happy with the adjustments so far. It is funny how it is all still so new, but it feels like we have had 2 children for ever. It is just so "normal" feeling. Now granted I have not tackled taking them anywhere yet. :) I am sure that will be a whole new ballgame!!!! :) But thanks for your thoughts and prayers---just keep them coming!!!!
