LOOK AT ME!!!!

Lately JDC is dying to sit up!! You put him in his car seat, swing or anything reclined and he is pulling himself up!! So we figured he was ready to play in in exersaucer. HE LOVES IT!!! Of course he is still trying to figure out all the buttons and what these things are staring him in the face!!! But he has a good teacher in his big sister. Before we know it, he will be bouncing and playing with it all!!!

And does anyone else feel like your second grows up WAY faster than the first!!! I can't believe how close to 6 months old he already is!!! And MWC going to school makes the weeks go by even faster!!! :( All of the sudden it is Friday and the week is gone. Which by the way she LOVES school!! Apparently yesterday I was not moving fast enough when it was time to go. I was on the phone with KayKay as I finished her hair and she grabbed my hand and said,"Let's go, Mama! It is time for school!"

Somebody got married!!!!!

This past weekend RDC's sister JAC became a bride to GMH!! It was a very fun weekend and a beautiful service. Unfortunately they are still going to be in Texas but we are looking forward to visits with them. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hightower!!!!

Family visits....nothing better!!

Two weekends last month we were very excited to have some family come into town for a visit. Aunt Barbara and Randy were in town for a high school reunion and we were able to visit with them while they were here. And then the next weekend -Aunt Bev and Uncle Craig came into town for a visit. We loved having them all here and getting to catch up!! MWC LOVED getting to see y'all and have extra playmates around!!! And of course JDC loved getting some extra good lovin' from y'all!!! THANKS FOR COMING TO SEE US AND CAN'T WAIT UNTIL WE CAN ALL GET TOGETHER AGAIN!!!

WE SURVIVED IT!!!

....well I knew MWC would survive her first day of pre-school---it was her daddy and I that I was a little worried about!!!! But since she was SO excited, it made it a lot easier on us!!! She told us this morning, "this is her day!!!" Actually, Aunt KayKay and Aunt EJW were the ones I think took it the hardest!!! :) But she had a GREAT day. She walked right in from carpool line and waved good-bye. Yes--we start carpool line the first day!!!!! When RDC and I picked her up for lunch, she said she had fun. Not too many details--but she wants to go back again on Thursday.--Of course I had TONS of questions!!!!! RDC just laughed as we drove away--telling me to watch the road because I was too busy turning around trying to ask her things. The only info we did get was she rode a tricycle in the gym, played with beans, and had music. Maybe as the year goes on--we will get more details!!!!

I think the person she missed the most was JDC because she was quite upset that he was not in the car and then even more upset when we got home and he had just gone down for a nap. He fussed a few minutes after we got home and she ran in there saying, "I think he is finished with his cat nap. Can I see him????" I love that she loves her brother so much!!!!! :)

Now that JDC is 4 1/2 months I figured I would update you on eating cereal and his 4 month checkup!!!! :) **Better late than never--huh!!!

Well at his check up he weighed 15 lbs 8 oz--58 % percentile

and was 25 inches long---51 % percentile

Just so you know BOYS ARE DIFFERENT!!! MWC was about 9 months when she finally hit 15 lbs!!! :) So RDC and I get quite a workout carrying him around. But we love it and love having him in our arms!!

He loved his cereal--did not take him long to figure out he liked the stuff!! Not much left after he was finished!! But we are taking a break--had some stuff going on and we are making sure it is not the cereal hurting his tummy. So we are actually off at the moment-but figured you would like to see him eating it for the first time. If all goes well, we are going to try and start back in a couple of weeks.....hopefully sooner.

Couldn't you just EAT HIM UP?!?!??!?!?!!? :)

A new beginning...

Well--as usual it has been SUPER busy around our house lately!! But for now--RDC is getting his haircut, MWC is still at BeBe's after her "big girl" slumber party with BeBe, EJW and KayKay, and JDC is napping--so I have a few minutes to update everyone on what is going on in "our world". ***I should be getting dressed to take MWC swimming :). But anyway--the biggest thing around here is MWC starting to pre-school NEXT WEEK!!!! I have such mixed emotions!!! I can't believe my baby is big enough to start pre-school and that she will not be with me everyday all day. Now if you had asked me on some days---this day could not have come sooner :)--but on most days--I do not want her to go anywhere!! I love having her home with me and would not have traded these last 3 1/2 years for ANYTHING in the world!!! I did not realize until the other day why this was getting so hard for me...and then it hit me-----a season of our lives is coming to an end. The season where we are not dictated by a calendar that tells us "August is coming" and our pajama days of watching movies and snuggling on the couch or waking up and deciding to go have lunch with Daddy -that season is coming to an end. I know, I know that it is just pre-school and she is only going 2 mornings a week and if we want we can "skip" a day, but the fact is--our baby is OLD enough and is very close to starting REAL school.--where they might frown upon us having a pj day "just because!!" But it is time and she is MORE THAN READY!! She told me the other day, "mama, I want to sleep at my school." UMMMM---no thanks!! :) She is ready to take her "backpack and her lunch" as she tells me everyday!! At supper the other night we were discussing school and I told her the first day after I pick her up, that we were going to have lunch with Daddy, just her, me and Daddy and we could go ANYWHERE she wanted. She immediately said, "school!" UMMM no again.....:) I am picking you up at 11:30!!! I am sure we will do the lunch bunch thing lots--but not on the first day!!!! But that shows you how ready she is!!! And I am looking forward to some one on one time with JDC--I just hope that my "to do" list does not over shadow his time alone with me. It will be a new adventure for us having to be up and dressed and somewhere by 8:30 on a regular basis!!! Even though I am a little sad about my baby growing up, I am excited for her and the new things she will get to learn and do. So August 12th is the BIG day!! Again...it is coming faster than I ever imagined!!! **Sorry for the "rambling"--but I tend to "write like I talk" :)--Hopefully it all makes sense and you can follow it!! :)
