Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!!!

Well, I know Christmas was a few days ago, but this is the first chance I have had since we do birthday the next day, and she seems to be even busier than normal. (But we will post about birthday after we get Christmas done!!)

I was so excited about Christmas this year, I could hardly stand it!! The week before seemed soooo long. But it finally got here!! Christmas Eve we had a wonderful candlelight service at church and all of our family was able to be there. (Both sides!) We took up a whole row~but it was great! And MWC did wonderful. She sat through the whole thing. (With a little help from goldfish and juice at the end :) Christmas morning, we woke her up and began opening presents. Well--she would look at one thing and be happy!! And we would tell her "wait, look at this!" She was not interested in anything else, but we did get most of them opened. (Except one we kept until later.) So RDC and I would open our presents while she played. MWC got a shopping cart, that was a big hit, so she would walk around and "shop".

We are blessed enough to have most of our family here, and those who are not, are able to come home and be with us. So we got to see everyone on Christmas day!!

MWC was a great trooper even though she decided she did not need a nap AT ALL that day!! After about an hour in her bed singing, talking and playing, her sweet Daddy tried to lay down with her in our bed. She did lay still until he heard, "Bob, Larry, Bob, Larry.: (She absolutely LOVES Bob and Larry on the Veggie Tales!!) Anyway after about 30 minutes of that, we gave up. She was very quiet at supper with RDC's family, but she behaved well.

It was so much fun to watch her play and do such "little girl" things. She loves babies, lotion, and jewelry. (She and her aunt CVW are going to have fun times ahead!!) But it was more special to hold her in church with us as we focused on the reason we have this wonderful season. And to talk to her about Jesus and His birth and read the Christmas story on a child's level. It is just a great reminder of how simple but AWESOME that night was over 2000 years ago.
