What MWC said when we told her....

I realized the other day that I never blogged about what MWC said when we told her about the baby.

The morning we took the home test, I wanted to tell MWC. RDC was a little hesitant since we had not been to the doctor and what if the test were wrong then we would have to "untell" her. I saw his concern, but was thinking she is two, it won't really "stick" right away. He understood that so we decided to tell her over lunch that day (since she was still asleep when he left for work.) So she and I picked up lunch on our way to his office and met him there. We sat down at the table and RDC looked at her and said, "you know what? You are going to be a big sister!!"

She put her hand over her mouth, grinned very big and went, "HAAAAA!! Can I have a chip??"

So that response calmed RDC's fears of telling her and then having to "untell" her. :) I do have to say now, it has stuck. Her Sunday School teacher told me tonight at church they were reading a book and a ladies belly was showing and she proceeded to say, "My mommy has a baby in her tummy!"

On a side note: We were able to take a GREAT family vacation last week to the beach!!! So as soon as I have time (hopefully tomorrow) I will blog and post pictures!!!

Update on baby.....and to answer a few questions!!

For those of you wondering our due date is April 3,2008. The new baby and MWC will be 3 years and 3 months apart. We have not decided whether or not we will find out what we are having. *RDC is leaning toward wanting to know, I am still undecided but leaning toward not finding out. :) We still have a few months to decide though!!

We had our 2nd doctor's visit today and everything looked great!! We had a sonogram and the baby is VERY active. That is the first thing she told us!! But we were able to see the baby's hand move toward his/her face and hear and see the heartbeat. We took MWC with us and she did not look away from the screen!!! It was priceless.

I am a little more tired with this one--of course this go 'round I am taking care of a 2 1/2 year old!! I am a little sicker, but nothing too terrible. And I am eating ALL THE TIME!!!! I don't remember eating this much with her. But all in all it has been good. RDC has been WONDERFUL and helping out even more than usual!!!

We will keep you posted as we go along the next few months!!!

Sorry no pics---the sonogram pictures were not very clear--so we were afraid they would be even worse if we tried to scan them in and post them. Maybe next time!!!!

Daddy can make anything fun!!!

-----even bath time!!! MWC was about to take a bath tonight and she asked her daddy to take one with her. So being the great daddy he is, he went and put on his bathing suit and hopped in. They were laughing and playing and having a great time!! I went in to tell them "5 more minutes" and a huge look of disappointment came across HIS face!!! Oh well--a late bed time every now and then never hurt anyone!!!

Who knew?!?!?!?!!?

......that shaving cream, a toothbrush and food coloring could be so much fun??? I try to let MWC paint with different things every now and then, and I remembered from my degree that if you have shaving cream and tempera paint you can change the color of the shaving cream and make a picture. But who has powdered tempera paint laying around?!!?!? Soooo- I thought food coloring changes the color of things. So today we got it all out. She was not real crazy about it getting on her hands, but she got used to it. But I think she liked using the toothbrush!! So if you have any ideas of fun things we can paint with, please share--we love to try new things!!!!!
