HE'S A BOY!!!

When we found out that we were having a 3rd, RDC asked if we could please find out with this one. Even though I LOVE not knowing, we decided to go ahead and know. However, we wanted to tell the family in a fun way. I had heard about "gender reveal" parties, and we thought that was a perfect way to tell people. (And besides~~any reason to have a cake is reason enough for me!! :) ) So we went to the doctor on a Tuesday to have the sonogram. And I think we made the sono tech nervous since we did not want to know right away. She was SO worried about saying "he or she" and then making sure we did not see the picture of what it was. :) H
owever, RDC and I could NOT stand it so as soon as we got home for the sonogram~we watched the DVD they gave us!! :)
But we LOVED being the only ones who knew for several days!! :) So then that Sunday, we had the BIG reveal!! We let MWC cut the cake and see. I was nervous because I KNEW she wanted a sister and we knew what was on the inside. She was a little disappointed at first but then we talked about how she is the only girl and when we have a girls night it will be just she and I and we will leave the stinky boys at home. :) And that she will get to be the only princess in the house!! She has made no mention of it since. :) So in February, we will be adding another precious little boy to our family!!

JDC has been asking "I sleep with you??!?!" when I put him down for a nap. So we decided Sunday was the day we would nap together. And he DOES not forget!! :) He ask each day, "What is today, Mommy? I sleep with you?" So we both look forward to snuggling in together on Sunday afternoons. :)

The summer full of changes and additions...

I know that it is now September and kids have been in school for a few weeks, but I can not ~NOT write about this summer!! It was FULL of changes and surprises!! The day before we left on our fabulous vacation to W@lt Disney, we received and accepted a contract on our house!! That's right after 13 months, 2 failed contracts and a lot of prayers and some tears we had sold the house!! So we went on vacation technically "homeless". =) But God had it all planned out for us. So we went on vacation and did not worry about it. Our proposed move date was June 24th. So we knew that we had to get home and get packing. The day we got home, Aunt EJW came over and told us that she was ENGAGED!! CW had proposed to her early that morning when they were supposed to be running! They picked the date of July 23rd. So that meant find a house, move by June 24th and wedding (and all the festivities) July 23rd. WHEW!! I was already tired!!

God did not disappoint!! We had our eye on a house since the first contract we had accepted and continued to watch it during our entire ordeal. But as only in His way, we came across another house that had only been on the market for about 2 months. It was a little bit bigger and had more "extras" that we could benefit from. However, when we first saw it, it was little bit out of our price range so we did not pay TOO much attention to it. But once we accepted the contract, we looked back at it, and the price had already dropped!!! So after much prayer and talking, RDC and I decided we would "fish" and see what would happened. We agreed on a amount we would not go over and began the "back and forth". After just a day or two the couple agreed to our amount!!! After all was said and done, we ended up with a house 100 square feet bigger than the 1st house we liked and our mortgage is less than what it would have been had the first contract in November worked out and we moved then. God is good!!! =) Of course after all was said and done, we could see how and why God had allowed the 2 failed contracts!!!

Then comes the move and the in between houses. We had several days that we were officially "homeless!" But sweet Pop and Granny took us in and we lived with them for a few days. =) So the first weekend in July we moved into our NEW home! And we LOVE it!! And now onto July!!!! (where the REAL fun began!!) The 2nd week in July, I started not feeling so well. I had been tired, but who would not be, we had packed and moved a house!!! But one particular Monday, I was feeling REALLY puny!! Since I was not 100% better by Tuesday, RDC and I decided it was best that I go to the doctor and figure out what was going on. Since I did feel SO badly and he needed to work, BeBe said she would go with me the next day. MUCH to our surprise~~ we were 8 WEEKS PREGNANT!!! So many have asked (including my mom), did I not have a clue? Well, my thinking was, we had been to Disney, had VBS at church, packed a house, moved out, lived with RDC's parents for a few days, and moved into a new house~~having a baby was not exactly on our "to do" list for those few weeks. =) But God has blessed us SO much with this fun surprise!! We had discussed having a 3rd baby, but again, our schedule for those few weeks were full. I am now 15 weeks, due February 21st. MWC is BEYOND thrilled!! Even though we did not find out with the first 2~we are going to find out this time. So in just a couple of weeks, we will find out if we are adding a baby sister or a baby brother to our family. ........so stay tuned!!!! =)

Over the Memorial Day weekend we got on a plane with our sweet, precious family friends and headed to the Mouse's House! WE HAD A BLAST!!! --minus the few meltdowns of tired children! :) --we did cut the a little slack since we did close the parks down with them a couple of nights. :) Some of the few things we did were ride, EAT, play, ride, swim, ride, and laugh--did I mention we rode rides?!?! Because MWC and her friend AEH (also 6 by the way) rode as many things as they could--whether they went backwards, fast, high-whatever!! If you ask MWC what her favorite ride was~it is one of the several roller coasters they rode. :) One thing we did not do much was relax! But we realized that is not going to happen with 4 precious children around. We will save that for an adult only cruise!! We did have a great time hanging out and fitting as much as we possibly could in our 5 day trip. We have already thinking about what we will certainly do next time or things we spend more time on.

Celebrating JDC!!!

I realize I a little behind in posting about how we celebrated our precious little man turning 3!!!

As all birthdays go in our house ~you get to

pick ALL day long!!! What and where you want to eat, what kind of cake~you name it!! =) There was NO doubt to RDC and I where we would be eating lunch. This little boy LOVES Chick-Fil-@!! So we ate there and let him play.

Then that night, he wanted a "football" party! So we invited the family over for pizza, popcorn and peanuts!

We LOVED celebrating our little boy!! He is so fun and ALL BOY!! I am VERY blessed that God has allowed me to his mama and to be a part of this very special family!!!

I love you, JDC and have enjoyed EVERY minute of watching you grow and learn and can't wait to see what this next year brings for you!!!

On her birthday in December, MWC decided she was ready to take her training wheels off and learn to ride her bike~~her Daddy and I were not so ready. :) But since it has warmed up she asked again when riding her bike. So off they came!!

She did really well the first time she tried! She was even able ride without RDC holding onto her some. (Daddy got a good work out running beside her. :) ) Unfortunately, at one point after he let go, she ran into a mailbox. :( That was the end of day one. After that, we just tried to get her out there a little bit each day. By the 4th day she tried~~she got it!! :) She still gets nervous when realizing she is doing it alone, but can get her balance on her own. We still need to practice turning and catching herself when she stops but we are VERY proud of her hard work!! :)

And she is VERY EXCITED!!! **and yes~~I teared up a little. ;)

Today our sweet (ALL BOY) little man is 3 years old!!!! He is SO very ready to turn 3!! For the last few days he has been asking, "I three??"

You are such a fun, lovable, busy boy. But you make us

laugh all the time!! ~~even if it is when MWC asks you to share something, the way you say, "nope" kinda makes us giggle. :) You are the typical little brother who LOVES when she is home from school and loves to play with her most of the time, but you have your fair share of time when you are aggravating her. JDC, you are certainly all boy. I can't leave you alone very long before I better go and look for you. :) You would stay outside all day if we had the time and energy. You are a DADDY'S boy!! You ask all daywhere he is and when he is home you are his shadow most of the time. Some of the favorite things I hear you say are, "I mi' you (I miss you~

you are still working on your "s") or if I say "I love you, sweet boy" ~you say, "no-I "J". And if we are having a hard time understanding what you are trying to say, you put your finger on your chin and say, "I tink." Your favorite things to do are dress up as Superm@an, play with cars and trucks, football or soccer or anything outside, and do puzzles. Of course your daddy and I think you are so VERY smart!! :) We love you to pieces and not a day goes by that you don't make us smile and that we do not thank God for you!! We love you JDC and hope that you have a GREAT 3rd birthday!!!

Our Stay~cation

Since Daddy had to work during spring break we weren't able to get away this last week~but we wanted to do something different and fun. Well the kids LOVE to play hotel and lately have been asking A LOT about swimming~~so we googled "indoor pools" in our town and made a reservation!! The kids LOVED it!! After RDC got off work, we had our bags packed and drove across town. :) We swam some then everyone got to pick what they wanted for supper. RDC and JDC had W*ndy's and MWC and I had cheese dip from a Mexican restaurant!! We ate in our pajamas in the room. Then this morning, RDC and the kids ran home, checked on the dogs :), picked up donuts and Chick-Fil-@ for daddy while I slept in. Then we went back to the pool and swam until check out time!! It really was a GREAT time. It was so nice to just watch them play and laugh with them giving them our FULL attention and not have to worry about laundry or the yard for a little while. I am sure there will be more stay~cations in our future!!

The BIG day for MWC finally arrived!!! She lost her first tooth tonight!!! She was SO very excited!! We were at some sweet friends' house and RDC and I were in the kitchen and she walks in with it in her hands. :) It did bleed a little and luckily Mrs. SH had some gauge for her to bite down on. (I was just going to give her a paper towel. (:) and she was fairly quiet while that was going on, but once that stopped she was very verbal about it!! :)

**The poor 2nd tooth does not get wiggled NEAR as much as the first one did. It is loose but may take longer to come out. :)

On January 15th, we moved JDC from his toddler bed to a twin bed! HE LOVES IT!!! The day Pop brought it over, he was running around the house yelling, "new bed, new bed!!" He has done GREAT in it. In the few weeks he has been it, he has only gotten out 2 or 3 times. :) We were quite impressed and VERY pleasantly surprised!!!

The other day when I dropped him off at church one of the sweet ladies keeping him mentioned how his "big boy switch had been flipped." And she is right. :( He is potty trained and doing GREAT (except at night) does not fuss when we leave him and has his own mind and agenda!!! :) Our sweet little one is quite independent always saying, "I do self"!! Even though he thinks he is

SO big, he will ALWAYS be my baby boy!! :)

This year was a little different, but we still had a great time celebrating the birth of Jesus. This was the first year, MWC had a hard time going to sleep because she was SOOOO excited about Santa coming. :) Finally at 10:30 she drifted off to sleep so Santa could come by. :) Can't complain though because she did not wake us up until 7:55. JDC was up shortly there afterwards so we headed into the den and starting opening presents. We had LOTS of fun watching their little faces dig into what was left!!

JDC got a Thom@s the Tr@in tricycle!! His legs aren't QUITE long enough. ~~won't be too long though! :)

VERY excited about her princess walkie talkies!!!

She was VERY insistent on getting her Daddy a tie with Santa on it. (RDC is NOT a big "tie" guy but promised her he would wear it EVERY Sunday next December.) :)

Apparently, JDC was just as insistent that I have this turquoise shirt. :)**Please take time to notice the sequence. :)

After we hung around home for the morning, we headed to BeBe's and had lunch with EJW, KayKay and WLG and Grandmama. The kids chose not to change clothes and continue to wear their Christmas pjs!

Race in Texas

Last month was the Nascar Race that RDC and Pop have gone to now for the last 5 years. The kids and I hang out with Grandaddy (and get spoiled) while we are there. :) This year Granny did not make the trip so Pop hung out with us the whole time~~even partaking in the night at Gre@t Wolfe!!! Not sure who had more fun~~the kids or Daddy and the grandfathers.

If you look closely~~that is Pop on the left "seado" having a water fight with MWC. :)

This is always such a fun weekend that we ALL look forward to each year!!!

Meet PETE!!!

The newest member of our family!! He is our 10 week old boxer puppy that we picked up today. :) A few weeks ago, MWC asked if we could, "PLEASE get a dog today!?!?!" RDC and I looked at each other and said, "why not?" (Yes I am sure that we could have come up with a THOUSAND reasons to say no--but we are dog people and have missed having one in our family. :) The search began for a boxer since RDC has always wanted a boxer. So today a little girl's dream (and a little boy at heart's dream) was fulfilled and we have a boxer puppy. :) The kids are already arguing over who he is going to sleep with and get to walk him on his leash. :) He already seems pretty attached--wanting to always be right with us. ~~under somebody's feet or in someone's lap. :)

He was laying on the kitchen floor and MWC walked into the den and got his blanket (that they sent home with us) and covered him up with it! :)

We have been CRAZY busy around here doing LOTS of fun fall things!!!

We started the month with me being in Vancouver on a mission trip with some people from our church!! All I can say is AWESOME!! Words can't describe knowing that you are EXACTLY where God wants you to be~~and that is what that week was all about for me. We went there to support and serve a team ~~who mostly are from

Misissippi~~ who is planting a church in downtown Vancouver. LOVED every minute of it!!!

Then by the time I got home the state fair was here!!!! :) So we took our annual trip with our precious friends the H's. We love going with them because they are so much fun and they have a little girl who is MWC's age and a little boy who is 6 months younger than JDC. So it works out GREAT!!!

We were also able to go the Pumpkin Patch with some other precious friends the Bs! We rode the hayride, ran in the hay maze and were able to find treasures in the "corn box". :)

I LOVE fall and all the fun things we get to go and do!! It WEARS us out, but I would not change making the memories with special friends for ANYTHING!!!!

A few weeks ago, JDC and I went and had lunch with MWC. ~~well we sat there while she ate since her lunchtime is 10:45. :) She and JDC loved it!! She loved us surprising her in the middle of the day and he loved seeing her in the middle of the day. :) I am sure we will be having several lunches with her.

..from our time we spent at the pool while on vacation!!! As much as I LOVED seeing the faces of MWC and JDC~~~I LOVED RDC's faces just as much!! The kids LOVE to swim so they had just as much fun in the pool as the beach. Toward the end, JDC would swim very small distances without his floats!!! We had SO much fun being there!!!

As much as we love vacationing with family~~we absolutely LOVE and cherish every second when we go out of town --just the four of us!! Can't wait until our next little get a way!!!

Beachn' it 2010

The last week of August, we were able to go to the beach for a few days. Unfortunately, it was cloudy most days and we did get rained on. :( But the kids did not care that it was cloudy and it kept us from getting burned. We did have a GREAT time playing on the beach and the waves, catching crabs (RDC caught 2), and playing in the pool~~and my favorite--EATING OUT!!!! :) We also loved having Daddy around ALL day during the day!!

Since Aunt JCH and Uncle GH live near Grandaddy in Texas we are fortunate to also see them when we go to Texas. When we were there last time, they drove over and had dinner with us at T@mmy's---a YUMMY hamburger place that we ALWAYS go to!!! It was a fun dinner and MWC and JDC love to play with Uncle G at the table!!! :) --(and getting away with it!) :)

Stockyard, Great Wolfe, Six Flags....

..and anything else Grandaddy could fit in while we visited him last month. :) Last month, the kids, EJW and I loaded up and headed to Texas. (RDC flew out on Friday.) While we were there, Grandaddy had a PACKED few days!! But we had a GREAT time!! When we got there we just relaxed a little, walked around the stockyards and ate a FABULOUS dinner. Then the next few days were filled with watching the cattle drive in the Stockyards, playing on the slides atGreatWolfe, and then spent the day at Six Flags. I am not sure who had more fun and was more excited---the kids or Grandaddy!!!

JDC LOVED going to Gre@tWolfe and playing in th e wave pool!!! MWC was tall enough to go down the BIG slides and enjoyed EVERY minute of it!! I even talked Grandaddy into going down at least one big slide so he could see how excited and how much fun she had on the big slides!! (I am pretty sure the one trip up those stairs was worth hearing her laugh and seeing her smile!!)

......yes we had cake AND a party....but more on that later. :)

Today was our 'baby's' 1st day of kindergarten!!! And she LOVED it!!! No tears.....yes there were a few from mom throughout the day--but they got better as the day went on. :) Fortunately, I know and love her teacher from when I worked in the schools so that was a DEFINITE bonus!! She walked right in and was fine. It seemed like FOREVER until 2:30 --then we went to get her and hear all about her day. We are still getting bits and pieces, but overall she loved it and can't wait to go back. :)

And yes...he did this off and on ALL day long!! :)

And what 'big' day would be complete without a party and cake?!?!?! We knew that all of the family would want to hear all about her day so we went to Pop and Granny's for cake so everyone could see her!!! **Even though by the time for cake we had talked to most everyone!!! We are SOOOO thankful that ALL of our family is so involved with our children and want to know all the details!!!

We have a calendar on our refrigerator that is "kid focused." It has cute little pictures and stickers to put important days. So MWC thinks that whatever the picture is~~well we need to do that for that month~~~and IN that month. :) Which is why Pop and Daddy were on a deadline for a fishing picture in June and why we HAD to have hot dogs on the grill for supper one night in July. And JUST as in the picture, she had to carry the buns out to her daddy when they were ready to come off. :) Hopefully it will ALWAYS be this easy to please our little girl. And it was fun her wanting to help "cook" supper. :)

Our not so "baby boy" anymore :(

The first week of June was some MAJOR changes for our little boy. He went from his crib to a toddler bed....(now he still can't get out by himself so there is no "real freedom" yet..but it is a start) AND he is now sitting at a booster seat at the table. --no more high chair. :( JDC loves his new bed!! I have only caught him once trying to come out over the side. :) When I looked back--MWC was in a booster seat a little bit earlier than him....I just don't think our "baby" is as "big" as she was at this age. Yes..he weighs about 6 more pounds than her at age 2--but he still seems more baby to me. (Maybe because I am in denial!!!) But our baby is growing and changing and BUSY as he can be!!! He is never out of our sight too long!! We are enjoying this stage with him...always learning and doing new things. :) The next BIG step----POTTY TRAINING!!! I think I will get MWC settled into kindergarten before we begin another milestone in our "babies" lives. (Because it is ALL about when mama and daddy are ready...RIGHT?!!??!) :) **If that were the case, cribs would still be their beds, high chairs is where they would sit, snuggling with me all day long, and no "big school"--maybe just a couple of hours each day.

Tonight we were able to help Pop celebrate his birthday!! Pop and Granny came over to eat and then we had ice cream cake!! YUMMY!!! The kids LOVED helping him blow out his candles. (JDC was QUICK and blew some out before the song was over so we had to re-light them. :) ) We had a good time just being relaxed and celebrating with him. We love you, Pop!! And we appreciate ALL you do for us!!! And as MWC put it so sweetly recently, "We love spending time with Pop and Granny!"

1 Little, 2 Little, 3 Little Fishies....

...actually it was 19 little fishies by the time we left.

With the month of June almost over, it was time to take MWC and JDC fishing. You see, the calendar in our kitchen had a little girl and a dad fishing so MWC looked at AWC one day and said "Pop and Daddy need to take me fishn' ". Well I talked to Pop and he was able to get in touch with one of his friends who has a lake behind his house and asked if we could come fishing. He was more that happy for us to come, so off we went. Pop and Granny came over and picked us all up and we headed out for a fun morning of fishin. We got out there a little later than we needed too but once we got our corks in the water .... we couldn't stop her!!!
I caught the first fish, MCW caught the second fish, and the most fish for the record,

and the only catfish of the day. She was so PROUD of catching the BIGGEST fish of the day. After that, it was like they were jumping on our hooks as soon as they hit the water.

Needless to say, we all had a BLAST!!! I finally had to stop fishing to help take the fish off and bait the hooks. In between that, we tried to get JDC to catch one. He had to use his sister's rod(he lost a few Man points for that one) because the other one was a bit to big for him right now. That didn't stop him from trying and finally he caught one. He wasn't too fond of being that close to his monster catch.

Mama was having so much fun watching that she had to get in on the action herself.

Well as you can tell, we had a BLAST fishing this day. We are all looking forward to making another fun filled trip to fish.

On Thursday, May 20th MWC graduated from her preschool. During the program, they walked up the aisle, they said her name, our names, where she is going to school and what she wants to be when she grows up. She wants to be a "fire girl."

Her class performed two songs. One, "If I were a butterfly" which we have been singing since she could talk...and the other one was, "Little Me." PRECIOUS song which I teared up during the entire song.
We have been VERY blessed these last two years at her school. I am sad that her days there are over because she LOVED going. But she is SO ready to go to big school and "get to stay for lunch bunch EVERYDAY!" ~~as she puts it. :)

After her program we went back to Pop and Granny's for cake. Because ANY reason (in our family) is a reason to have CAKE!! :)

So now we are going to play all summer and SHE (not mama) is counting down the days until August 11 when she officially goes off to kindergarten! :)

MWC had just been punished from something fun and she was having a "moment" on the couch. JDC could tell she was upset so when I walked into the den, he was trying to pick her up and was saying, "hold,hold, hold." I asked him if he wanted to hold her and he said, "yes".

Thankfully, this made his sister feel MUCH better!! :)

I pray that he will ALWAYS want to take care of his sister. :)

But it was a fun day!! Since we stayed home from church, we started the day with breakfast in bed! RDC took the kids and they ran and got some doughnuts that we shared in bed.

Then I got a WONDERFUL manicure! :)

I was able to snuggle in the bed and watch TV with my babies....

I am pretty sure (despite having pink eye :) ) that I had the BEST Mother's day yet!! I am very blessed to be the mother to these two precious, caring, VERY entertaining, and LOVING children.

Fun day at the zoo!

A couple of weeks ago, MWC's class went on a field trip to the zoo. She is going through an independent phase so I tried to stay back a little and let her be BIG. :) But she had fun being there with her friends and looking at all the animals. When I asked her if she wanted just she and I to go, or bring JDC, she was a sweet big sister and wanted him to come. It was a little harder with a 2 year old, but he did good riding in the stroller when we walked and then getting out just to see the animals.

I promise JDC did have fun!! I guess he is just mad about being in the stroller. :)

Easter 2010

I know Easter was a few weeks ago and I am a little behind on blogging...but so we will always remember........

Our babies on Easter morning...surprisingly it only took 2 shots to get them both looking and smiling!!! :)

Once they got up and moving, we went into see what the Easter Bunny had left....

Both VERY excited....(excuse JDC's "bedhead" :)

After church we went to Pop and Granny's for lunch and hunting eggs. They LOVED it. At first, JDC would walk by the eggs and point and leave it there. We had to do a little explaining about "hunting" :)

After Daddy and Pop had turns hiding the eggs, MWC wanted a chance to hide them for her brother..... :)

JDC decided he had enough hunting and wanted Pop to pull him around on his toy four wheeler....It has no battery so we say it is "Pop powered" :)

After naptime, we made one more stop by my great aunts house to visit with out of town family. The kids had a good time playing in the back bedroom digging up some old toys. (I am surprised none of these ended up coming home with us. Aunt NA is to the point where "if you like it, you can take it home." :) We have come home with LOTS of goodies from her house. :)

He started the day by watching TV in the bed with Daddy....

Breakfast with our "birthday buddy" PB--they share the same birthday!!

Then lunch at the park......

And home for cake!!!!

...for kindergarten!! Yes..our "baby" will be starting ALL day BIG school in the fall. Today we were able to go to the school and fill out her paperwork and let her visit a kindergarten classroom. She LOVED it!! When we first got there, she was a little shy and hung near me, but in an instant she was lined up and ready to go with the teacher. While she was in the room doing an activity, this gave the principal time to talk with the parents about the school and what kindergarten is like. I did really well and was prepared with what she was saying until she began talking about "lunchtime". About how my little baby would learn to carry her tray, her lunch number and how to open her own carton of milk. :(--that is BIG stuff!!! I was prepared for going to her room alone from carpool line, staying all day, etc--but did NOT EVEN THINK about my baby "doing the lunch" thing. Anyway..she and I both did well--she enjoyed visiting the room and showed me how in kindergarten she will walk down the green lines in the hallway to her room. But I think I was mainly ok because she was SOOOOO excited!!! However, I make NO promises for August 12th. :( So for now, I am going to continue to enjoy everyday that we have together!! :)

Weekend in Mempis!!!!

...or "Memthis" as MWC called it! :) A couple of weeks ago, RDC and I decided to take the kids on a a quick trip to Memphis. We had always talked about taking them to the zoo and the Children's Museum up there--so we planned an impromptu trip. And we are SOOO very glad we did!! :) We had such a great time. The kids did great and we had enough time to do it all without feeling rushed. After RDC got off work on Thursday, we loaded up and headed out. We got up Friday morning and headed to the zoo!! :) The kids LOVED it! They have some new exhibits to see and the weather was great. It started getting cool right about the time we left. Here are just a FEW of the pictures we took while we were there.

What was especially neat was they had some exhibits and animals that our local zoo does not have. So we were able to see some different animals.

I know y'all have wondering what is going on with the Cox family?!?!? :) It has been quiet busy these last several weeks. The first of February, EJW and I flew with the kids to visit Grandaddy!! We had a really great time and the kids did GREAT on the flight!! Toward the end on the way home, JDC got a little restless that is only because he wanted to stand up in the seat and turn the light on and off like he go to do with EJW on the way over!! :) ~~I will post pictures and more on that in another post.

Then of course we celebrated Daddy's birthday, Valentine's Day and EJW's birthday. It seemed like every time we turned around we were celebrating and eating!! But it has been a fun month.

But now we enter March and we get ready for a VERY special little boy's birthday. Yes, in about 2 1/2 weeks our baby will be 2!!! And he is definitely filling the role of the boy in the house!! BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!! One of my favorite thing he does right now is--if you ask him, "who is a mess?" He either responds with, "me" (and a grin) or "mess."

And on top of all of that we have been doing "house stuff". ~~Painting, cleaning out the garage, etc. So we have been busy to say the least!! Hopefully, things will slow down and we can get outside and play more!! :)

Of course we were just as thrilled as everyone else in our area to wake up to snow actually sticking to the ground!! We could not WAIT to get outside!! The kids both LOVED it!! MWC's favorite thing was having snowball fights. She was SUCH a trooper!! She would be laughing so hard she would just fall down and could not get up she was laughing so hard!! :) That is one of the BEST sounds in the world--your child's genuine laugh when having fun!! :) After about 1 1/2 JDC had enough--but he had gotten COLD and his hands were FREEZING. (Yes grandparents--he had on gloves but they were soaking wet!! :) ) But after a little hot chocolate and lunch we went back out for another round of snowball fights, snow angels and playing!! :) It was a GREAT day--and as RDC put it, "It is only Friday, we still have a weekend to go!!"

Our Big 5 year old!

So a couple of weeks ago, I took MWC to get her kindergarten shots--"kindergarten flu shots" as she calls them. :) I have to admit, I was a little sad. She is just growing up way too fast for me! I tell her all the time not to go to kindergarten and stay home with me. But she is SO very excited and ready--so that makes it much easier on me. She did great at her

check up. This was the first visit where Dr. D would ask her the questions about how she is doing -ask her to draw something for him--and they checked her eyes. I have to admit, it was quite hard not to blurt out the answers for her. :) But he gave her an A+. :) When the nurse brought in her 3 shots, I was more nervous than she was. She actually WATCHED as she got the shots. Now me on the other hand, I turned away while they did it. She gets her strong stomach from her daddy!! :) Luckily there were no tears which made it a lot easier on this mama. And of course she got to pick where we went to lunch! Unfortunately I did not have my camera to take pictures of her "big day". But she did do great and we are so proud of our big 5 year old!! :)

Well today our Mome walked, and sometime jogged, in her first 5K Run/Walk. Daddy got us up early and got us ready to go cheer for our Mome. Daddy had gotten a surprise for Mome earlier in the week and JDC, Daddy, and I wore them to show Mome how proud we are of her. It was so cold this morning that I needed my big Pink coat to keep warm. We wrapped JDC up in a blanket to keep him warm but I think he was cold anyway. Aunt EJW took some pictures of us and we wanted to share with you how proud we are of our Mome and her first race.

Sorry you couldn't see JDC's shirt but he was FAN 3!!

A couple of weeks ago, RDC and I took MWC to see The Wizard of Oz on stage. SHE LOVED IT!! She was able to sit VERY close to the stage with some good friends while RDC and I sat in the balcony. We could see them down below so were able to see her until it got too dark. But during intermission they told us the girls were standing in front of their seats and not really sitting in them, so we moved down to watch the rest with her. (At first she did not want us sitting with her. She wanted to be a big girl and sit with her friend by herself. :) ) But by the end she was sitting in my lap snuggling--so I think she ended up not minding!! :) But it was so fun being there with her watching her first play on stage. She loves that sort of thing, so I am sure we will be attending more plays.

Christmas continued....

Sorry for the delay---I did not feel very well last week so blogging was put on the back burner. But now we are onto a new and VERY busy week!! :)

Of course another tradition around Christmas is to go and see Santa and tell him what the kids wanted for Christmas. Well, Santa did not get a whole lot of time with JDC as he starting crying the SECOND RDC put him down in his lap. The tears flowed and he continually told us he was "finished." :) Luckily MWC did manage to tell him a few things she would like to have.

Oh well--maybe next year!! :)

We celebrate Christmas with Bebe, Aunt EJW, KayKay and WLG the Wednesday before at KayKay and WLG's house. We grilled out steak and ate "happy birthday, Jesus" cake. It was all soooo good!! :)

Christmas morning was GREAT!! We actually had to wake the kids up about 8:30 so we could start our day. I thought this would start our years of VERY early mornings, but not! :) The kids seemed to love their gifts. However, by the end of the day, MWC was playing with JDC's toys and he was playing with old ones!! :) But we had a relaxing day hanging out at home. Granny, Pop, BeBe and Aunt EJW were able to come over and have brunch and watch the kids play with their toys. Then for supper we went and celebrated and ate supper at Pop and Granny's.

Yes, Santa was VERY good to us this Christmas!! :) But before we get to Christmas morning, let me back track through ALL our Christmas festivities!! December was busy for us--we tried to get as much done as we could!! :)

We did make a trip to see the City of Lights and had a great time. It was a little busy, but we enjoyed being there with EJW and BeBe. Having a very active 21 month old proved difficult in getting some good pictures, but we made do!! :) So lots of pictures are of sweet MWC saying, "See, I am smiling and being still for the picture." And so of course we had to take her picture alone some--but she WAS smiling so sweetly and we could not pass up those good opportunities!! :)

Finally a good one! :)

Our fabulous visit with Santa and celebrating Christmas with the families to come, but I am going to take advantage of one more day of napping before my sweet RDC has to go back to work!! :)

Today is MWC's 5th birthday!!! I can't believe that our "baby" is 5 years old today!!! It just does not seem possible. I can't believe that 5 years ago today, God blessed me with one of the most precious things He has ever given me. I could go on and on about how special she is to me or how much I ADORE our little girl, but if you know me at all, you know how much I LOVE her. :) I really in truly can't put into words all the feelings and emotions I have felt this last couple of weeks knowing she is turning 5--"a whole hand old!" Happy because I love seeing the compassionate, smart, caring, fun, creative, imaginative little girl she is turning into--but also sad, because she is growing up and is becoming quite independent. :( I love being this little girl's mama---and can't wait to see what this next year holds for our special gift from God.

First soccer season....

...comes to a close. After a very RAINY season, MWC is finished with her first soccer season. She was on the Blueberries--and began to really enjoy the games. She always LOVED practice but the first game was..........different. She played some,but then decided she wanted to watch. But we kept going and week by week she enjoyed it more and more. Her favorite part was being able to kick the ball in. But once the ball was in she was not always running after the ball, but mostly away from it. However, at least she was out there willing to help her team (which was not the case in the first game). We were proud that she did not quit and finished the season. And at the team party, she was named "best helper" on the team!!!! Not so sure we will be signing up for another round of soccer, but she at least tried it and stuck with it those 7 games!!!!

She loved it because at the last game her daddy filled in for one of the coaches.

This morning, RDC took the kids to get donuts. When I heard them come in, I walked up the hall to go and eat with them and this is what I saw.......

(He and MWC had a picnic with Aunt EJW last night, so he figured he would have a picnic this morning!!!)

.....He was ready to bless it!!! RDC came in and saw him and told me that as soon as they got back in the car with their donuts he put his hand together ready to say the blessing!!! :)

As you can see--meal time is a very important time to him!!!! **I just LOVE our little man!! He just makes me smile!!!!!

Every night after dinner it is a family chore to help clear the table. The other night, RDC and the kids went to rinse their hands and head back to the kitchen. Well both kids got distracted by something on the way. And when he looked up he was alone in the kitchen. So called down the hallway, "Why am I the only one in here?" And MWC politely responded, "Because no body is in there with you." :)

And like he told me--"she answered my question!!" :)

**And I realize that I used the same picture of her from "Wordless Wednesday" but it is just the way she says things lately--with that head tilted grinning at us!! :) And also to tell Pop THANK YOU for taking such GREAT pictures of our babies!! A lot of the "wordless Wednesday" pictures come from ones he has taken. But I have not been able to give him the proper credit since it is supposed to be wordless!! :) But thank you, Pop for doing such a great job on capturing great pics of them!! :)
